Documentation
What is the difference between the ADSB Out and ADSB In-Out in the transmission of your current Aircraft position and velocity, so that other Aircraft and ATC can see you?
ADSB In receives other Aircrafts ADSB transmissions allowing you to see the traffic around you on your favourite EFB App.
What Apps does it work with?
All Apps supporting GDL90 over wifi at this stage. We have extensively tested AvPlan*, OzRunways* and ForeFlight*. (*Trademarks of the respective companies: https://foreflight.com/australia/ https://www.ozrunways.com/au/ https:www.avplan-efb.com/)
Is a Mode S transponder a mandated requirement for all controlled airspace?
No. Although Mode S transponders offer some benefits for larger aircraft and may be mandated in the future, they are not currently mandated for all airspaces by all countries. Rules regarding mandates for Mode A/C, Mode S and ADSB vary significantly across different countries. In Australia as an example, the current requirement for aircraft operating in controlled airspace (other than within the airspace of the major international airports) is a Mode A/C transponder.
If operating IFR or above FL290 then you must also have ADSB Out. ADSB Out makes your aircraft electronically visible to other aircraft and enhances see and avoid for VFR flights. We encourage all owners to consider the T2000ADSB as a cost effective ADSB Out option that achieves the same safety outcomes of a more costly Mode S equivalent solution.
If I upgrade my existing T2000ADSB Out will I need a new electrical harness?
No! The new T2000ADSB-IO is a true ‘plug-and-play’ upgrade option and your existing harness will fit without the need for any modification.
Is the new T2000ADSB-IO easy to use?
Yes! The T2000ADSB-IO retains the same human machine interface as its T2000ADSB Out predecessor. The combination of easy to use dial and push button controls, optimises menu selection and is ideal for in flight control.
How long will it take to upgrade my T2000ADSB Out to the new T2000ADSB In and Out?
The upgrade will take between 5-7 days from receipt of your T2000ADSB into our facility.
What are the delivery/shipping costs?
All new T2000ADSB units are shipped to the customer free of charge. For all T2000SFL upgrades, the cost of shipping your transponder to us will remain the responsibility of the sender and Microair will provide free shipment of the upgraded transponder back to you.
